About Me.
Hello, I’m Laken Doty, MSc - a trauma-informed somatic therapist.
My work is grounded in clinical training in forensic and abnormal psychology, with a focus on how lived experience shapes the nervous system, behavior, and relational patterns. I support clients in understanding these patterns while building emotional regulation, stability, and a deeper connection to themselves.
My approach draws from somatic and body-based practices to support trauma processing, nervous system regulation, and sustainable healing. Sessions are intentionally paced to prioritize safety, reduce overwhelm, and allow for meaningful, lasting change.
I am also the creator of a sound-based regulation practice developed during my time living and teaching in South Korea. This work integrates sound, energy-informed practices, and nervous system awareness as complementary support within a therapeutic setting.
At the core of my work is a balance of clinical depth and embodied awareness, with an emphasis on safety, pacing, and psychological stabilization.

Founder of Still Light Therapy
Trauma-Informed Somatic Therapist
My Holistic Approach
At Still Light Therapy, I offer a trauma-informed space for reflection, regulation, and meaningful change. I work collaboratively with clients to explore protective patterns, process difficult experiences, and build emotional regulation through body-based and relational approaches. Sessions are paced with care to support depth without overwhelm, fostering insight, resilience, and lasting change.
In addition to individual therapy, I work with schools and institutions to provide trauma-informed, nervous system–aware support that complements existing wellbeing and safeguarding practices. My focus is helping individuals feel steady and supported enough to connect with their inner experience and develop a sense of lasting stability.

Culturally Responsive & Expat-Focused Care
Supporting internationally mobile individuals, families, and students navigating identity transitions, relocation stress, and cross-cultural adjustment. This work is informed by lived experience teaching in South Korea and practicing as an expatriate in the Netherlands.
